When everything in your life is fading
Being shaded darker and darker everyday
Feeling your understanding drive away
In the rain on a cloudy night in the thunder
As lightning strikes, you hit the ground
You do not hear the sounds of your heart beating
As the sky turns to gray; to black
You face your head the other way; you turn around
You try to stand….but
Your shadow fades to darkness
So you give up; your head hits the floor
Pick it up
See who is inside
Find the light
And pick yourself up
Burning thoughts spin within
All of your feelings burn a hole in your soul
Breaking it up, melting it through and through
But you don’t care
You are too angry to notice, the pain that is inside
To confused to make a plan, to get better, to heal your mind
You need to see
That in the dark there are people
People just like me
I, the person who wants to help you live
To beat this pain inside
To help you calm the tornado of feelings within
So don’t give up
You can win
Don’t become the dark
We can be light together
But be afraid
Because I will be afraid right here with you
